We are finally starting to see glimmers of summertime. From all of the leaves in the trees to the flowers in the gardens, I am soaking up every bit of it! The weather here in KC has been really good for the last few days. We are expected to get some more rain over the next couple days but that’s alright, my flowers need it! 🙂 The thing I am more excited for than the weather is the fashion. These trends are awesome. For once I feel like for the most part I can see myself totally wearing a lot of the hot items, and actually pulling them off too. My favorites that I am going to try and you will see up on the blog soon are..
1. Off the Shoulder/ Cold Shoulder
From dresses to shirts I am obsessed with this trend. This winter was all about the cold shoulder. For summer we are seeing off the shoulder as well as cold shoulders. Mostly short-sleeved, and tank cold shoulders in brighter colors for summer. I am still loving blush pink but I am gravitating to bolder brighter hues this season! Here are 3 on my wish list:
Flowers are everywhere, no I’m not referring to our gardens. From the runways to prom, florals are HOT! Whether you want to go bold, embroidered or soft and subtle, there are so many options. I know I’m crazy but I have not gotten into the rose embroidery trend but I know some people who can and are totally rocking it! These are a few I am wanting and I have one that is on the way but I’m keeping that a secret because you will see that in a post soon!
Ruffles are a new obsession of mine. I have been seeing them all over my Instagram feed and I am super excited to rock them this summer. It adds femininity to any outfit. You will soon see a post of mine combining a classic with this new trend. Below are a few more on my wish list!
4. One Shoulder
My favorite fashion trend from high school is back! YES! I’m beyond excited. I have a few that I have saved (Don’t judge me, I’m a clothes hoarder) and I have bought a few new ones too! I cannot wait to share these looks with you all soon. I’m linking a few close examples below.
Athleisure is killing it right now. We will probably start to see less and less of it in the sense of bomber jackets and jogger pants. However I think the comfy, casual, yet chic look is here to stay. Swapping out the warm joggers for mesh leggings. I just bought some from Old Navy if you can believe it. Tennis shoes are no longer frowned upon or viewed as lazy. Check these out.
What are your favorite items for summer? What are you drawn to most on this list?
I’d love to hear from you below!
